Drawn Dreams
Following her instinct, spontaneously sketching the images of her dreams and telling a story through drawing – this is Lorette Cld's expression in her illustrated notebooks. An associate professor with a higher applied arts degree, she teaches as much as she learns, a generational exchange that nurtures her approach.
Narrative and Botanical
Children's illustration defines the pictorial style of her drawing, where mediums and instruments converge towards the same path. Inks, charcoals, and pigments sometimes cross paths with screen printing, bringing to life the artist's stories where vegetation and mysterious characters reside.
The Right Association
During our meeting, we perused her illustration notebooks, searching here and there for the right association that would bring the Estampe art object to life. It was in her botanical studies, where the subtleties of drawing blend, that we found an elegant source of inspiration, bold in its lines, refined in its subject.
The Candle by Lorette Cld
Lorette's candle is botanical: a portrait of wild nature, generous and mischievous through the details hidden within it.
