A good-luck candle

It’s given for a birth, a new home, a new chapter. Light it, and the wish begins. The wax burns down, the porcelain shell remains. So does the luck.

A herbarium of clovers

On the edge of Paris, in her red-brick studio, Swenn Jed draws every day. Noble paper, fine point, no screen. Estampe gives her carte blanche. She chooses the clover, and repeats it, stroke after stroke, until the shell is covered. Her portrait, here.

Across the Loire

The drawing leaves the paper. Pad-printing craftswomen apply it to the porcelain, one piece after another, facing the workshop where the candle is cast.
