"Taille" minimalist porcelain design candle by Point b-Art • Estampe
From the 1980s came the metal machines Point b-Art uses to print his luxury stationery. For Estampe, he hot-stamps each label adorning the luxury candle boxes. His design draws on the engraving of old printing processes, for a modern, minimalist decorative piece.
A contemporary candle, down to the line
White, black, lines. Nothing more. Thomas Michal’s candle fits elegantly into contemporary interiors where graphic design must be abstract and modern. A design candle for pared-down interiors, and for those who love graphic work.
Printing like engraving
In Burgundy, a stone’s throw from the Estampe workshops, Thomas Michal runs his presses. Ink, gold leaf. Here paper keeps the mark. Printing takes its time, the machine is watched at work. His portrait, here.
The line of copper on porcelain
For his candle, he draws as one engraves a plate. The design moves from paper to matte porcelain, applied by pad-printing craftswomen across the Loire.
