"Pop Macabre" original scented candle by Fouapa

Fouapa creates his own imaginary world, called Pop Macabre. Two contradictory universes he brings together, an atmosphere he builds year after year. It is through his approach to the plant world that the collaboration takes shape, around this candle whose design draws on medieval botanical paintings and Portuguese ceramics.

Nature is watching us

At the heart of each flower, an eye. The design winds, embraces the porcelain shell, tentacular, with hints of Art Nouveau. You look at the candle, it looks back.

An original candle, pop and macabre

In his studio in Lyon, Fouapa makes the loud colours of the 90s and funeral art coexist. Death becomes joyful, uninhibited. A piece of character, for those who do not like well-behaved candles.

From studio to porcelain

The drawing is born in the studio, passes through the graphic designer’s office, then reaches the pad-printing craftswomen across the Loire. They apply the design to the matte porcelain shells.
